Our Message
2025 is off to a fast and exciting start across PNE and all our multi-industry brands. As we head into summer, it’s clear that our momentum continues to build, and our teams are working hard to meet the growing demands of our customers and industries. One of the most significant developments for PNE was the acquisition of Taurus Power & Controls in August 2024. Taurus, a highly respected control system integrator and power distribution testing firm, perfectly complements the services offered by AET. This addition strengthens PNE’s electrical and automation capabilities and sets us up for long-term success. We’ve also welcomed strong leadership additions to our team. Paul Schultz has joined as President of WasteXpress Environmental (WXE), bringing decades of experience in hazardous waste and environmental services. Frank Flanegan now leads Cowlitz Clean Sweep (CCS) as President, with a proven background in industrial cleaning and environmental operations. Additionally, Travis Martell has joined us as Director of Fleet for CCS, bringing 20+ years of fleet management and military logistics experience. To further support our growth, we’ve launched the Samsara fleet management system across our company, enhancing safety, efficiency, and accountability across the board. There is much to look forward to at PNE and all its divisions. As we move into the summer months, things are ramping up, and it’s full steam ahead. I want to thank every member of our team for your hard work and dedication. Your efforts continue to drive our success.

Profit Sharing
Team PNE,
I hope this message finds you well. We’re nearly three months into 2025 and it promises to be a great year! Our team is growing, our pipelines are filling and we’re still out there hunting for more opportunities. As always, we are committed to maintaining a transparent and exciting profit-sharing structure, and we regularly work to improve and adjust the program to ensure it aligns with both the company’s goals and our team’s contributions. This year, we’re making it easier than ever to earn under our profit-sharing program. The annual target profit sharing amount is $2,000 per participant. Historically, the amount was paid in four $500 increments as we reached 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of target marks. In 2025, the payout structure will be adjusted to five payments of $400 whenever we reach 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of target marks. We will provide the first update with our progress as we finish the first quarter. For now, let’s keep the focus on safety, exceptional service to our customers and recruiting the best and brightest talent to join our team. I truly appreciate your continued dedication and hard work, and we look forward to our continued success and growth together!
Thank you for all you do. We’re all about solutions!

DIVISION UPDATES
The theme for this year: Buckle up and hold on, because it’s going to be a wild ride. PNE continues to grow with our two main customer bases—Costco and Tribal clients.
Our portfolio with Costco continues to diversify, focusing not only on fuel projects such as expansions and on-site relocates, but also with car wash remodels and a new program for fleet restrooms. Construction will kick off in early Q2 with the addition of restrooms for fleet drivers, located near the warehouse receiving areas. PNE has been awarded 30 sites across 5 states. While last year was a down year due to numerous permitting delays—resulting in a total of 45 awarded projects—by the end of March this year, PNE Construction has received 43 awarded projects, thanks in part to the new fleet restroom program.

TOUTLE, WA DREW’S GROCERY
Not only does our work continue to grow with Costco, but the same can be said for our Tribal projects. PNE Construction is nearing completion of a C-store project, teaming up with AET in Heart Butte, Montana, for the Blackfeet Tribe. The site is scheduled to open in May. We also have several other projects either preparing to kick off construction or currently in the design phase—stay tuned for more updates. Lastly, PNE, along with AET, recently completed construction at Drews Grocery in Toutle. The store, operated by Greg Drew and his daughter Julie, tragically lost their building to a devastating fire over two years ago. After operating out of a temporary store since then, Drews Grocery officially reopened to the public on April 14th with a brand-new, 10,000-square-foot store. If you’re ever in the area, be sure to stop by—this is a great accomplishment for an amazing family.

ADVANCED ELECTRICAL TECHNOLOGIES May 1 2025 / Vol 08 st
AET has started the year in unfamiliar waters as the economy works to determine its direction. Despite the uncertainty, our team pushed through and came out of the first quarter in great shape. The Longview team kicked off a couple of notable projects at WestRock in Longview and completed a full sawmill rewire in Kalispell, Montana. Other team members have been busy with Drew’s Grocery, the Bud Clary Corporate Office, and multiple Costco jobs down in California. Most exciting is the substantial backlog of work lined up for the second half of the year.
The Idaho group focused on strengthening relationships with key food and manufacturing companies in the area. Through their hard work and quality installations, they’ve positioned the team for a busy year, with larger projects starting at Ash Grove Cement, Simplot, and Amalgamated Sugar Company. The Aberdeen team has been hard at work with Washington Crab, a project that involves rewiring several production lines to improve safety and efficiency. They’ve also contributed to ongoing work at Sierra Pacific and Port Townsend Paper. Over the years, we’ve learned that the Peninsula market can be challenging, but thanks to this team’s professionalism and dedication, we continue to succeed. Our newest department in Vancouver is exceeds expectations. The team just wrapped up a major power distribution upgrade at Firestone Fruit, and with the addition of Taurus Power & Controls, new opportunities continue to come through the door. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of the entire AET team. Let’s continue to stay safe and keep up the great work.

CCS
It has been an action-packed start to the year at CCS. The division continues to grow, evolve, and advance in several ways. We’ve brought on talented leaders, welcoming Frank Flanegan (President), Travis Martell (Director of Fleet), Adam Moeller (Regional Superintendent), Shawn Cain (Field Account Manager), and Michael Murphy (Lead Maintenance Tech) to the CCS team. The maintenance shop has been completely revamped and expanded, and we’ve made a significant investment in new pickup trucks to update the fleet.
CCS has accomplished a wide range of successful projects across our service area and secured new work already in 2025. Project highlights include the pulp mill outage in Halsey, fryer outage in Caldwell, heat exchanger, clarifier, and pit cleanings in Boardman, asphalt tank cleanings in Nampa, tank cleaning for inspection following a fire in Portland, gasoline and additive tank cleanings in Portland, and transportation and disposal of petroleum-contaminated soil in Tacoma. New work has been secured at a gypsum plant in Tacoma, a resource recovery provider in Pasco, a cruise line company operating throughout the PNW, and hydrodemolition support for a large treatment plant project in Seattle. This is just a portion of what’s happened so far in 2025—there are several other projects not mentioned and many more exciting things ahead this year. With the safe performance of work as a top priority, CCS’s continued growth in industrial and environmental solutions across the entire PNW has been impressive to see!
TAURUS: POWER & CONTROLS At Taurus, 2025 marks a significant milestone as we integrate three departments and team members in Longview and Boise while also celebrating 40 years in business. The Sales team, Estimators, and Department Managers have been working closely to maintain a steady influx of new projects in Controls, Panel Fabrication, and Power Testing across various industries, including Water/Wastewater, Power Generation, Industrial, and Government sectors.
This year also marks the launch of our largest project to date—the Bull Run Filtration and Pipeline—a three-year endeavor that will redefine our capabilities. With our expanded resources and a team of top notch employees, the future of Taurus is looking brighter than ever!

Safety Tips-Risk Assessment May 1 2025 / Vol 08 st
Conducting a risk assessment involves three key steps: identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures. First, identify all potential workplace hazards, including machinery, chemicals, and ergonomic issues. Next, assess the risks by evaluating the likelihood and severity of each hazard, prioritizing the risks that pose the greatest threat. Finally, implement control measures to mitigate or eliminate risks, following the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Regular monitoring and review ensure the effectiveness of these measures and help maintain a safe working environment.

TAURUS POWERS AHEAD WITH PANEL PRODUCTION
Taurus began work on a control panel project designed to optimize wastewater and biosolids treatment. At the heart of this system is a ControlLogix PLC, engineered to manage complex operations with precision. The panel features a redundant power supply system to ensure seamless performance, even in the event of power disruption—keeping visibility and control uninterrupted. IFM modules were used to streamline fabrication and simplify field terminations, enhancing efficiency and reliability. In addition to fabrication, the Taurus team is handling full field integration, terminating every device and I/O point across all provided panels and equipment—delivering a true turn-key automation solution.
After a devastating fire in 2022, Drew’s Grocery—a longtime staple in Toutle, WA— was reduced to ash. But through the collaborative efforts of PNE Construction, AET, and CCS, the community’s beloved store has been brought back to life. STRONGER TOGETHER: PNE TEAMS RESTORE A TOUTLE LANDMARK Drew’s owners selected PNE Construction as their general contractor. The construction team immediately went to work and had AET install temporary power, allowing Drew’s to reopen a much smaller store to continue serving the town. PNE Construction broke ground in 2024, and over the following months, PNEC managed the structural buildout while AET handled electrical installation for the new 10,000-square-foot facility. On April 16, 2025, the new Drew’s Grocery officially opened its doors—restoring access to essential goods and services for the Toutle community. This project is a true example of PNE’s multi-industry strength. Together, our teams turned a loss into a fresh start for a community we’re proud to serve.
AET recently completed a major electrical service upgrade at a cold storage and processing facility in Vancouver, WA. The scope of work included removing outdated 1600 amp, 480-volt service gear and installing a new 2500 amp, 480-volt service to support the facility’s growing operational demands. The team installed ten parallel runs of 350 kcmil copper wire and utilized a technique called "lashing" to stabilize the wire in the event of a fault. This upgrade ensures reliable power distribution for critical refrigeration equipment and cold storage systems, enhancing the facility’s overall efficiency and reliability. COLD STORAGE POWER UPGRADE
