Safety Tips-Risk Assessment May 1 2025 / Vol 08 st
Conducting a risk assessment involves three key steps: identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing control measures. First, identify all potential workplace hazards, including machinery, chemicals, and ergonomic issues. Next, assess the risks by evaluating the likelihood and severity of each hazard, prioritizing the risks that pose the greatest threat. Finally, implement control measures to mitigate or eliminate risks, following the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Regular monitoring and review ensure the effectiveness of these measures and help maintain a safe working environment.
